  • Volunteers Needed for Herndon Science Competition!
    • May 23 | In-Person: El Segundo and Chantilly, VA
    • The 2024 Herndon Science Competition Committee seeks volunteers to assist with laboratory tours, essay and experiment judging, experiment timekeeping, and student/teacher escorts. The event will be held onsite at El Segundo and Chantilly on Thursday, May 23, 2024. If you would like to volunteer, please email STEM@aero.org
  • Smithsonian 15-minute virtual visits
    • May | Virtual
    • Support virtual visits with 4th and 5th grade classrooms online over Zoom! Each visit will feature an Aerospace employee sharing a short section of a story from the Everyday Energy book and a little about themselves. Visits will last around 10 – 15 minutes, including time for questions. A selection of stories is available with sign-ups on May 22 and 29.
  • Ocean View Middle Schools 2nd Annual Science Expo
    • June 6 | In-Person: Fountain Valley, CA
    • The middle schools in the Ocean View School District will be holding a 2nd annual Science EXPO on June 6th. The focus for the EXPO is on the Engineering Design standard: MS- ETS1-4. Develop a model to generate data for iterative testing and modification of a proposed object, tool, or process such that an optimal design can be achieved. Judging will take place from 9am – 11 am.   • Torrance Armed Forces Day Booth Volunteers
  • May 17-19 | In-Person: Torrance, CA
    • Aerospace continues to support the local community and our ongoing partnership with the U.S. Air Force by participating in the 62nd Annual Armed Forces Day Celebration to honor the nation’s military in Torrance, CA. This year, they will co-host a booth with the United States Space Force, the honorary branch of the military, for this year’s event. Volunteering at our booth means you will:
    • Work alongside USSF members
    • Answer questions about working at Aerospace, working alongside our customers, STEM, and more.
    • Help booth visitors make and launch straw rockets.
    • Monitor the straw rocket launches.
